well, despite the fact we disagree on everything, you must agree a bracket, single elimination, random teams.. that means each clan only gets 2 maps of there's and then they lose and they're out, that's all.... not playing any other maps, not vs any other clans, I'd hardly call that fair, plz agree lol
I would suggest, if we're going down the bracket route a double elimination bracket, or even a round robin in which randomly, (I have found a website to do this if you need) you put each time in, and it gives all teams vs eachover, like a round robin, do that, double elimination or whatever, or even untill all have played 5 games, which clan has 5 wins or the most wins... if there's 2 with the same or 3 we have a 1v1 , or 1v1v1 round robin of them, just 1 extra round.... seems better this does sound complicated, so feel free to bug me about it in voobly so i can explain
If people bother to read the original post I created a while ago, the tournament is a round-robin league, split into two sides.
Each side will have 4 teams which will play each other (so each team will play 3 other teams, one a week over 3 weeks).
The draws will be randomly generated. I will discuss a method to select the 8 clans to be involved with the Voobly mods helping out.
Depending on the amount of matches played, there will either be semi-finals for the top two teams from each side of the league draw, or only a final for the two top teams.
The reason it is round-robin is this tournament is to decide the current better all-rounded clan vs all other clans. Knock-out isn't always an accurate form.
I would assume that November 20th will be the final selections of teams, and a nominated leader from every clan needs to attend to receive information and agree to the rules to be set forward to get the tournament started.
I would hope that the tournament starts on the 27th of November, giving the 27th, the 4th (December) and the 11th to complete the games. The 18th will be for the semi-finals, or possibly the final depending on the circumstances. If we fit in semi-finals, teams in the final will be given the choice of when to play the final since Christmas/New Year people tend to go away and it's unfair for Voobly to make the finalists complete the final on Christmas Eve.
This is the way I envision the tournament to run, but it all depends on whether or not the participating clans can turn up for 3 weeks straight, admin wins would be really lame.
Note: This is the way I'd like to run my idea for the tournament, but in the end Voobly will have the final say.
If people fail to turn up to games, a knock-out tournament of shorter length will have to be used instead. But I would prefer the round-robin tournament and create something big for the first time in CS, just like the RTS league for Rm which is opening again for the 27th time, the previous 26 times being very successful and having up to 28 teams competing, not just 8 ^.^
Anyway, I'll talk with GoogleMaps tomorrow or some other staff and discuss this further with them, as well as other ideas and hopefully update all the information within 24 hours.
^.^ just make sure if we're only having 8, to make it fair, choosing the clans who actually have a chance or include everyone and just use an even number
taking moths to finish the clan tourney would b to much... we might try to play some games in order to move faster, i mean there's ppl here who spend all day in voobly so they wouldnt have any problem im guessing, to play a lot.
